Abstract
1,199,095. Expanding-pulley gear; securing pulleys on shafts. ERNST HEINKEL A.G. 3 Sept., 1968 [14 Sept., 1967], No. 41842/68. Headings F2D and F2U. In an expanding spring-loaded pulley gear, a movable flange 4, with integral hub 5, is slidably keyed on a shaft 3 of a fixed flange 1 by synthetic resin-coated blocks 12 located on the shaft 3 by pins 121 and slidably engaging axially directed keyways 10 formed in a bush 8 secured in the flange hub 5, the bush 8 being formed with lubricant grooves 11 and arranged in the hub 5 as a spacer between bearing-seals 6, 7, the latter being provided for the retention of grease packed therein during assembly of the bush and bearing-seals which are retained by a circlip 91. The assembly procedure comprises fitting the bearing-seal 7 in the movable pulley hub 5 which is then mounted on the shaft 3, the blocks 12 and securing pins 121 being assembled on the shaft through radial holes 15 in the hub 5 after which the bush 8 is inserted in the hub bore 6, to engage its keyways 10 with the blocks 12, and the bearing-seal 6 fitted at the outer end of the bush 8, and retained by the circlip 91.
