Abstract
1,039,777. Air cooled cylinder heads. MOTORENWERKE CUNEWALDE VEB. Feb. 17, 1964, No. 6471/64. Heading FIB. An air-cooled cylinder head has a central cooling air channel divided by a portion 26, Fig. 1, into upper and lower channels 5, 6, the upper channel 6 leading cold air directly on to the upper wall 23, Fig. 2, of the exhaust channel 19. The lower channel 5 is formed between the side walls 16, 17, of the exhaust and inlet channels 19, 18, and cooling fins 27 are formed therein, fins 28, 30 also being provided in the portion of channel 6 over the exhaust channel 19. The flow of cooling air through the portion of channel 6 over the inlet channel 18 is prevented by a rib 32. A fuel injector valve, sparking plug, or combustion chamber 1 is situated in the entrance to the channel 5.
