1,134,200. Cylinder heads. DAVEY, PAXMAN & CO. Ltd. Sept. 26, 1967 [Oct. 5, 1966], No. 44467/66. Heading F1B. A cylinder head flareplate 1 has valve apertures 4... 7 and an injector aperture formed therein the valve apertures being surrounded by inter-connected cooling liquid grooves 20... 23 which are formed in the upper surface of the plate. The cooling liquid enters through inlets 30, 37, flows through the grooves 20... 23 to a groove 12 surrounding the injector, and escapes through passage 25 to the cylinder head cooling chamber. The inlets 30, 37, are connected to passages leading to the cylinder jacket.
