Abstract

A sealed relay in which all the metal parts are degassed and all the insulating materials used do not emit excessive gas. The coil 2 is made of eloxalized aluminium wire and the various other insulating parts are made of ceramic or mica. The core 1 has two threelimbed polepieces 5, 24 secured to its opposite ends. Each limb has an insulating plate, e.g. 8, 9, 10 to prevent armature sticking. Three armatures 31, 32 and one not shown, are mounted by U-shaped blade springs 33, 34, 35 welded to connector tabs 37, 38, 39 and cooperate with pairs of limbs 9-25, 8-26 and 7-27, of the two polepieces 5, 24. Each armature is coated, e.g. at 41 with contact material and co-operates with a pair of fixed contacts, e.g. 17, 18 to form a changeover contact set. The fixed contact of each set, e.g. 17-18, 19-20, 21-22, are spaced apart by insulators 13, 14, 15 projecting from a plate 12. A getter 45 is provided and the relay is provided with plug-in terminals 43.
