Abstract

1,038,531. Valves. MECANO-BUNDY G.m.b.H. Feb. 26, 1963 [Feb. 27, 1962], No. 7703/63. Heading F2V. A valve controlling an engine cooling system comprises a valve disc 1c co-operating with a seat on a housing 2 to control the flow of fluid to the radiator. The disc 1c extends to skirt portion 1d which co-operates with apertures 2a in the housing to control the flow to a by-pass of the radiator. The valve member is secured to a thermal element 1 and is urged by a spring to close the passage to the radiator. As the temperature of the fluid increases, the valve member moves against the spring to progressively close the apertures 2a and open the path to the radiator, the fluid flowing through apertures 1f in the valve member.
