1,029,352. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. M.BEHR, [trading as SœDDENTSCHE IIOHLERFABRIK JULIUS FR BEHR]. Aug 4, 1964 [July 26, 1963], No. 30995/64. Heading G3P. [Also in Division F2] A valve, for controlling the by-pass of fluid in a hydraulic transmission in which the motor drives a fan associated with the radiator of an engine, comprises a main valve 33 Fig. 2 (not shown) controlling the flow from an inlet 36, to an outlet 35, the valve 33 having a restricted orifice 38 correcting the inlet to a chamber 30. A pilot valve 28 controls the exhaust of fluid from the chamber 30 to open the main valve, the valve 28 being loaded by a spring 27. The loading of the spring 27 is adjusted by a thermostat 21 in response to the temperature of engine coolant flowing to the radiator. The main valve opens to allow by-pass of fluid in the hydraulic transmission lines and closes with increased temperature to increase fan speed.
