Abstract

1,037,458. Cable clips. A. RAYMOND. June 2, 1964 [Jan. 8, 1961], No. 22785/64. Heading H2C. [Also in Division E2] A fastener for attaching a cable to a rod 5 comprises a substantially flat base 2, a pair of resilient cable holding arms 10, 11 extending from opposite sides of the base and a pair of teeth 4 sheared and bent from the base so as to have their ends facing each other to form a rod receiving aperture, wherein the teeth are inclined to the base so that the rod is permitted to pass through the aperture in one direction but is prevented or hindered from passing in the other direction and wherein the cable engaging arms are bowed on concentric arms to form a split cylindrical clip with a concave surface 11b facing the base of the fastener. The base 2 is seated on a rod support 14 by flanges 15. The arm 11 provides support for the cable when the fastener is used to hold a cable horizontal beneath a support. In another embodiment a resilient tongue is sheared from the arm 11 and bent inwardly enabling cables with a greater range of diameter to be held securely.
