Abstract

1,034,236. Edge connectors for printed circuit boards. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 30, 1965 [May 25, 1964], No. 21487/64. Heading H2E. One or more printed-circuit board edge connectors 1 are mounted between two plate members 7 by bifurcated spring clips 12 which extend through the plate members and through the connectors (Fig. 2, not shown). Before the spring clips 12 are inserted the plates 7 are correctly located with respect to the connector units by means of projections 11 provided on the units. The connector units 1 each contain a plurality of undivided spring contacts (Fig. 2, not shown) which are extended to provide tag ends 6. As a printed circuit board is inserted into the connector it is supported by channels 23 and guided into the connector by a slot 22 provided in a mounting block 16. Correct insertion of the printed circuit board is ensured by a polarizing key 24. The mounting blocks 16 enable the unit to be mounted in a rack 20, 21.
