Abstract

A printed-circuit board guide comprises an electrically insulating, resilient plastics member 2 having at least one channel for receiving an edge of a first printed circuit board 30 and shoulders for engaging edge portions of a second printed circuit board 28 adjacent an opening 27 therein. As shown, the guide is H- shaped, thus having two channels, and has slots 20 forming the shoulders, the guide being resiliently deformable so that it may be inserted and secured in the opening 27. Connectors 32a, 32b are plugged into the second board 28 adjacent the guide for making electrical connections to the conductors on the first board 30. In Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown), the guide is U-shaped, thus having one channel. In other embodiments, Figs. 10-17 (not shown), the guide is H-shaped and the shoulders are formed by an upwardly facing shoulder (102) and an outwardly extending ear (92) on each side face of the guide, Fig. 10 (not shown). The guide may support the second printed circuit board in spaced relation to a mounting panel, the guide below the upwardly facing shoulder being elongated and secured to the panel either by a screw, Figs. 11-15 (not shown) or by a shoulder engaging in a slot in the panel, Figs. 16 and 17 (not shown).
