Abstract

1,217,455. Mounting electrical equipment. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 27 May, 1969 [17 June, 1968], No. 26705/69. Heading H1R. [Also in Division H2] A connector for use with printed circuit boards comprises spring contacts 12 operable by cams 18 to move apart to facilitate insertion of a board 20. The housing is of a high strength resinous material, e.g. glass-filled polycarbonate or epoxy resin. The contact points may be gold-plated. Additional biasing means may be provided to increase contact pressure. A series of such connectors may be used with a stack of boards with high density circuitry in a tank containing a liquid coolant and a heat-exchange unit (Fig. 3, not shown).
