Abstract

New compounds of formula <FORM:1032251/C2/1> and acid addition salts thereof, where R1 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1-5 C which may carry hydroxy group(s) on carbon atoms other than that adjacent to the ring, benzyl or phenyl which may carry halogen atom(s), dialkylaminocarbonyl with 1-4 C alkyl groups, alkoxycarbonyl with a 1-7 C alkyl group which may carry a halogen atom, or nitroso, R2 is a chain or cyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon group of 2-10 C which carries a halogen atom (except 4-halobut-2-yn-1-yl), and R3 and R4 are hydrogen or alkyl of 1-3 C, are prepared by reacting R1, R3, R4-piperazine with Cl.CO2.R2 (the former being preparable in situ by reacting R3,R4-piperazine with the appropriate chloroformic ester); 1-21-chloroethoxycarbonyl-4-methyl-piperazine is excepted from per se and process claims. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise compounds I with carriers. Oral, parenteral and external preparations of these anthelmintic compounds are mentioned.
