Abstract
1,030,419. Travelling wave tubes. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. March 8, 1963 [March 17, 1962], No. 9277/63. Heading H1D. A periodic magnetic focusing system comprises a plurality of axially magnetized ring magnets 1, 2, of alternate polarity associated with polepieces 3, 7. Hollow conductors 4, 5 are adapted to supply high-frequency energy to a travelling-wave tube within the focusing system. Radially magnetized magnets 10 are arranged adjacent to the conductors, a further polepiece 8 being positioned within each magnet 10. Annular discs 9 serve as magnetic shunts. Yokes 11 connect the magnets 10 with the nearest axially magnetized magnet.
