Abstract

1,028,733. Fluid-blast switches. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Jan. 27, 1965 [April 24, 1964], No. 3715/65. Addition to 1,018,169. Heading H2B. The fluid blast switch of the parent Specification is modified by providing the moving contact rod 7 with an axial bore 35 connecting together a number of radial bores 37, 39 opening in the region of the arc and in the oil chamber 16 respectively so that during contact separation oil is driven from chamber 16 through the bores 35, 37 to extinguish low current arcs between the contacts. An additional bore 38 may open into chamber 19 so that pressure is equalized on opposite sides of supporting wall 15 in the contacts closed position of the contact rod. The bores 37, 38, 39 are arranged obliquely to allow free flow of oil.
