Abstract

Liquid or pasty detergent preparations contain (a) surface-active alkyl benzene sulphonates, and (b) mono- and/or di-salts of C10- 14 alpha-sulpho fatty acids. Optionally, (b) may also include more than 14 carbon atoms, and salts of esters of sulpho fatty acids may also be present, in either case with certain provisos about the relative proportions of each present in relation to each other and to (a) and (b). Surface-active sulphates may also be present, including those derived from saturated or unsaturated fatty alcohols, fatty acid alkylolamides, part ethers of fatty alcohols, alkyl phenols or acyl phenols, and part esters of fatty acids and polyhydric alcohols. The cation of all anionic surfactants present is preferably Na, but may also be K, Li, NH4 or mono-, di- or tri-ethanolamine. Organic solvents may be present, e.g. C1- 5 alcohols, C2- 5 glycols, di- or tri-ethylene glycol, glycerine, polyglycerine, and part ethers of any of the foregoing polyhydric alcohols with C1- 4 alcohols.
