Abstract

Shampoos contain a minor amount of a mixture of dipropylene glycol and the monomethyl ether of diethylene glycol as solvent, with conventional surfactants, such as alkyl sulphates, alkyl benzene sulphonates, and alkyl ether sulphates. Exemplified liquid shampoos contain (1) monoethanolamine lauryl sulphate, the above solvent mixture, and water; and (2) the constituents of (1) together with ammonium dodecylbenzene sulphonate, sodium tripolyphosphate, and lauric isopropanolamide.
