Abstract

Antiseptic washing and cleansing agents are prepared by incorporating water-soluble mercury, silver or gold salts, which dissociate into metal ions, with aliphatic compounds having strong wetting and washing power, containing at least 8 carbon atoms, having an acid sulphuric or phosphoric ester group or sulphonic acid group in an end position, and forming water-soluble salts with said metals. Specified metal salts are mercuric chloride, auric chloride and silver nitrate. Specified wetting and cleansing agents are acid sulphuric esters of unsaturated or saturated alcohols, for example lauryl or cetyl alcohols, dodecane-diol or decenol, true sulphonic acids such as hydroxy-octodecane sulphonic acid, palmitic sulphonic acid, and condensation products derived from fatty acids of high molecular weight, or their chlorides or anhydrides, with hydroxy- or amino-alkyl sulphonic acids such as those described in Specifications 341,053, 343,899, 366,916, 367,585, and 372,005. Instead of the free esters or sulphonic acids there may be employed water-soluble salts thereof such as those with ammonium, sodium, potassium and amines such as mono-, di-, and tri-methyl, ethyl, propyl, ethanol propanol amines, and with pyridine. The mixtures may be prepared as aqueous solutions or as powders, bars, flakes or the like. Additional ingredients which may be incorporated with the products are talc, starch, sugar, urea, polymerized acrylic acids, dyestuffs, glycerine, organic solvents, perfumes, fats, soaps, waxes, sodium phosphate, Glauber's salt, formaldehyde, and cresol. The primary ingredients may be mixed in aqueous solution or in the dry or moist state. Specific examples relate to mixtures of mercuric chloride, silver nitrate or auric chloride (H Au Cl4) with the sodium salt of the acid sulphuric ester of dodecyl alcohol, with palmitic sulphonic acid, with a paste containing the sodium salt of the oleic ester of hydroxy-ethane sulphonic acid, ammonium sulphate and water, or with a mixture containing sodium salt of oleic-N-methyl taurine, starch, water and perfume.ALSO:Antiseptic washing and cleansing agents are prepared by incorporating water - soluble mercury, silver or gold salts, which dissociate into metal ions, with aliphatic compounds having strong wetting and washing power, containing at least 8 carbon atoms, having an acid sulphuric or phosphoric ester group or sulphonic acid group in an end position, and forming water-soluble salts with said metals. Instead of the free esters or sulphonic acids there may be employed water-soluble salts thereof such as those with ammonia, sodium, potassium and amines such as mono-, di-, and tri-methyl, ethyl, propyl, ethanol propanol amines and with pyridine. The mixtures may be prepared as aqueous solutions or as powders, bars, flakes or the like.
