[Also in Division H2] A spin-drier having a drum mounted directly on the shaft of a squirrel-cage drive motor and a fan wheel mounted on the motor shaft outside the motor housing according to the parent Specification is characterized in that baffle plates are mounted on the drier housing and project radially so as to impede the air stream produced by the fan wheel and hence reduce the speed of the motor. The fan wheel may be mounted on the shaft immediately below the drum or its blades may be provided externally at the circumference of the drum.
