Abstract

1,021,606. Agitating liquids. DR. KARG G.m.b.H. Nov. 18, 1964 [Nov. 22, 1963], No. 46928/64. Heading B1C. Apparatus for homogenization of a liquid by immersion therein comprises a rotary impeller I within a guide- or control-ring 3 having apertures 4 and a funnel-shaped entry 6, the heights 7, 8 of the ring and funnel being the same. The impeller may be axially adjustable. The funnel angle α should be relatively large but less than 90 degrees. There may be strainers 10 and/or 11, the former being of the larger mesh. A fixed horizontal baffle may depend from the ring 3 (see Fig. 3, not shown). The funnel may surround the top of the ring instead of being continuous with it, there being an annular aperture between them (see Fig. 2, not shown); the funnel may be curved with respect to the impeller axis (see Fig. 4, not shown).
