Abstract

1,021,307. Hydraulic intensifiers. E. M. TOROSSIAN. March 6, 1964 [Nov. 21, 1963], No. 9618/64. Heading F1P. In a pressure intensifier wherein initial pressurization of liquid in a cylinder space 3, Fig. 4 (not shown), and a chamber 1 connected thereto by a bore 9 in a cylinder end cap 2 is effected by axial displacement of a partition 6 bounding liquid space 3 when subjected to compressed air admitted through a distributing valve to a cylinder space 5 and wherein final working pressure within chamber 1 is effected by axial displacement of a plunger 10 which closes bore 9 on admission of compressed air beneath a piston 11 to which the plunger is secured, the high pressure chamber 1 has tapped bores 13 to which may be connected conduits leading to clamping devices (not shown). Valves 42 1 , 42 2 , controlling inlet and exhaust to and from the air cylinder space below piston 11 and valves 43 1 , 43 2 , Fig. 5, (not shown), controlling inlet and exhaust to and from air cylinder space 5 are actuated by cams 47 secured to a rock shaft 39. Air bubbles collecting in a transparent tube 21 above chamber 1 are released on unscrewing a hollow sealing plug 28 having apertures 29 opening into an auxiliary reservoir 22 containing makeup liquid.
