Abstract

1,020,989. Feeding sheets. G. RITZERFIELD. Aug. 19, 1964 [June 5, 1964], No. 33816/64. Heading B6B. Apparatus for feeding a plurality of master printing sheets arranged in side-by-side relationship to the cylinder 1 of a rotary duplicating machine comprises a fixed master sheet feed table 18, a removable master sheet feed table 30 adapted to be attached to the table 18 and provided with a row of retractable pins 31 designed to engage in perforations in the master sheets, and means to retract the pins to release the sheets and to simultaneously open the gripper jaws 13, 15 on the cylinder 1. The pins are normally held in their projecting position by permanent magnets 46 which attract a plate 50 and cause a screw 51 to move a pin support plate 40 against spring bias. Downward movement of a lever 2 forces the plate 50 away from the magnets by means of a lever 60 and also opens jaws 13, 15 in sequence against spring bias via a linkage 4-7, a lever 9 and a projection 12.
