Abstract

1,019,903. Stencil duplicators. A. B. DICK CO. Sept. 28, 1962 [Oct. 10, 1961], No. 36908/62. Heading B6C. A cylinder 10 for a stencil duplicating machine comprises a cylindrically curved perforated portion 14, a stud 22 and a guide pin 24 for securing an ink pad 18 and a stencil 20 over the perforations 16 of the portion 14, and elongated dots 26 formed transversely of said portion 14 at the ends of the portion and opening into the cylinder so that ink tending to pass beyond the ends of the portion 14 passes through the slots and is absorbed by felt pads 32 in chambers 28. Ink collected in the chambers 28 passes through openings 30 into the cylinder reservoir 12. The felt pads may be replaced by laminated plastic material or by straws so that ink is drawn through the slots 20 by capillary action, or by an absorbent material such as foamed polyurethane.
