Abstract

1,006,662. Manifolding stationery. SIS Ltd. April 3, 1962, No. 12669/62. Heading B6A. Stationery for use in typewriters &c. comprises a number of superposed record webs, such as 6, 7, 8, and interleaved carbon webs, such as 9, 10, all provided with transverse perforations 4 at definite intervals to permit zigzag folding of the webs, marginal perforations 5 in some of the webs, one or more of the imperforate webs having tongues 11 cut out opposite the perforations 5 in the other webs and glue applied through the perforations secures all the webs together. All the webs have marginal perforations 2 and feed holes 1. As shown, the intermediate webs have perforations 5 and the bottom web 8 has tongues 11 facing in the longitudinal direction, the tongues 11 being connected to the top web 6 by the glue in the perforations 5, thus allowing relative movement between the webs during folding. In a modification, the webs 7 and 8 have tongues 11, and the webs 9 and 10 have perforations 5; but other variations can be made to suit the manifolding operations. Further, the tongues 11 can be cut to face transversely of the webs. In order to allow the webs with cut-out tongues to have relative movement in two opposite directions, each tongue (Fig. 5, not shown) is pre-creased several times before glue is applied.
