Abstract

940,132. Manifolding stationery. HAMILTON TOOL CO. Aug. 25, 1961, No. 30669/61. Heading B6A. Superposed record sheets 20, 30, 40 and 50 are secured together by providing tongues 60 which are struck out of the top sheet 20 and secured at their free ends by adhesive to the sheet 30, and further similar tongues in the sheets 30 and 40 which are similarly secured, respectively, to the sheets 40 and 50, whereby the sheets can be moved relatively to each other in one axial direction of the tongues, but not in the other. As shown, the record sheets form parts of superposed strips or webs which have been folded in zig-zag form, and the method of securing them together facilitates this zig-zag folding. The strips are all perforated at 16 to provide an end stub 14, and superposed strip-feeding holes 12 are also provided. Carbon sheets or strips 25, 35, 45 are secured, respectively, by adhesive to the record sheets or strips 20, 30, and 40 along zones between the holes 12 and the perforations 16, whereby the record sheets may all be separated from the stub 14, leaving the carbon sheets or strips attached to the stub. The carbon sheets are omitted where the record sheets are treated chemically for duplicating purposes.
