Stencilling; hand-stamps; inking-apparatus. - A stencil hand-stamp, of the kind described in Specification 187,495, comprises an inner main frame having side walls 10, 11, Fig. 4, and end walls 12 which are turned over to form guides 24 for a cover plate. Inwardly directed flanges 13 are provided to support a perforated diaphragm 14, Fig. 3, which is bent into upstanding walls 15 and provided with curved lateral flanges 16 adapted to clamp an inking-pad between them and similarly shaped corrugations 17 formed in the side flanges 13. The ink pad consists of an inner layer 18 of felt, an outer one 19 of fine meshed cloth, and a pad 20 enclosed between the two, the whole being stitched together. Fitting round the main frame is a stencil frame 33, Fig. 1, provided with internal flanges to fit under the flanges 13 and formed with corrugations 36, Fig. 3, similar to the corrugations 17, between which flanges the stencil is clamped, rubber strips carried by the under side of the flanges 13 serving to grip the stencil. Latches 38 on the stencil frame serve to hold it in engagement with the main frame, together with tongues on the stencil frame which are passed through slots 32 in the main frame and bent to form hinges. The cover 25, carrying a handle 41. is passed under the guides 24 and secured by latches 28, Fig. 1, engaging projections 26 on the wall 10 of the main frame.
