Abstract

1310327 Guiding webs ROLAND OFFSETMASCHINENFABRIK FABER & SCHLEICHER AG 26 May 1971 [29 May 1970] 17356/71 Heading B8R A turning bar comprises a fixed body portion 8 provided with end caps 5, (6), Fig. 1 (not shown), and a detachable air-permeable porous portion 3 connected to the portion 8 by screws 4. In use, air supplied to the interior of the bar passes through the detachable portion 3 to cushion a web passing thereover. Detachable covers, e.g. of synthetic plastics material, may be provided to seal off parts of the porous surface and thus shorten the effective length of the bar (Figs. 1 and 3, not shown). In a modification the fixed portion comprises a hollow body (18) provided with a plurality of openings (25) through which air can escape, and the detachable portion comprises a flexible porous sheet 27 which is releasably clamped to the fixed body (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown).
