Abstract
1,018,138. Floating docks. V. ALBIACH. Feb. 29, 1964, No. 8587/64. Heading B7S. A floating dock comprises a bottom portion 1 and at least two vertical, lateral wall sections 2 which consist of a lower and a higher portion pivotally connected to each other, the lower portion having a closed or closeable bottom, such that each wall section is adapted to float independently with the lower portion vertical. Each section 2 comprises an upper portion 3 which can pivot by means of a hinge structure 4 about an axis 5, such that when portion 3 is lowered it is at such a level that the complete wall section can float in a stable condition (Fig. 2, not shown). The wall sections are detachably connected to the bottom portion 1 by bolts 6. Valves 10 may be fitted between the bottom 7 of the sections 2 and the bridges 8 of portion 1. The bottom portion 1 may comprise a number of pontoons. Figs. 3a-3c (not shown) illustrate how the bottom portion 1 is assembled to the wall sections 2 when they are made separately and floated independently.
