A boat has a load-carrying platform or structure resiliently suspended relative to the hull by means of springs extending upwardly and downwardly of the platform or structure. A platform 10 is shown in Fig. 1 suspended by springs 17, 19 and in Fig. 4 by springs 27, 29. The springs may be, or may include, elastomeric elements, e.g. rubber cords, or may be pneumatic or hydraulic or pneumatic-hydraulic telescopic units.
