1,017,247. Valves; cooling. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. Sept. 4, 1963 [Sept. 7, 1962], No. 34901/63. Heading F1B. Cooling air flowing from the inlet passage 8 Fig. 1, to the exhaust passage 9 through passages 11 in the web 50 between the valve ports is directed over the wall of the exhaust port by a guide member 13. In Fig. 1 a guide member 12 is also provided at the inlet end of the passages 11 to direct air thereinto. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the guide 18 at the exhaust passage end of the passage 11 is formed by a Venturishaped ring integral with the valve seat insert 19.
