Abstract

1,016,903. Discharge lamps. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 3, 1962 [July 4, 1961], No. 24107/61. Heading H1D. In an electric discharge lamp whose envelope consists of two vitreous members sealed together to provide a sinuous path for an electric discharge, the lead-in conductors which support the electrodes are sealed through the joint between the two vitreous members. The conductors may be metal ribbons or wires, either above each other or beside each other, and may be mounted in a glass bead before sealing into the joint. An exhaust tube may also be sealed into the joint, being supported internally by a titanium liner, or by rotating high-melting glass beads.
