Abstract

Metal surfaces are lubricated with an aqueous or oil solution of a partial or total neutralization product of an amine, polyamine, aminoalcohol, amino-polyalcohol, or condensation product of an amine or polyamine and an epoxide, with an acid selected from chromic acid, chromic anhydride (and water), and phosphorous, phosphoric or thiophosphoric acids. An oil-soluble emulsifying agent may be present. The products defined above may also be incorporated in lubricating greases, paints, varnishes and antifreeze compositions.
