Abstract

1,010,099. Vehicle steering; vehicle frames. MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR A.G. May 28, 1962 [May 29, 1961; June 12, 1961], No. 20414/62. Headings B7D and B7H. A vehicle comprises a pair of steerable wheels 4 mounted on leading arms 2, 3 which are pivoted on a transverse frame member 1 and supported by springs and a cantilevered forwardly extending frame member 6 carrying a steering box 19 at its forward end. The wheelhubs are connected by links 15 to a spider 12 mounted on a vertical shaft 8 which is connected through drag link 17 and drop arm 18 within the frame member 6 to rocket shaft 20 mounted within the transverse tube 21 which supports the steering box 19 on the frame member 6. Preferably the steering column 22 extends backwards at an angle of 32 degrees to the horizontal.
