Abstract

1,009,400. Screw presses. MASCHINENFABRIK HASENCLEVER A.G. Feb. 12, 1964 [Feb. 21, 1963], No. 5815/64. Heading B5F. A screw press comprising a ram 6, a nut 5 and a screw 4 is driven by a constantly rotating flywheel 14, 15 through a clutch 13, 19. When fluid under pressure is admitted to an annular recess 23 a pressure ring 18 moves clutch member 19 downwardly against spring bias, and drive is transmitted through the clutch to the screw 4. The clutch may be automatically disengaged on completion of the working stroke of the ram. The ram 6 is returned to its initial position by pistons 10 in cylinders 11. The flywheel 14, 15 is driven by an electric motor through a belt 24.
