809,553. Hydraulic safety devices for presses. RICHTER, A., [trading as RICHTER MASCHINENFABRIK A.]. March 15, 1956 [March 22, 1955], No. 8121/56. Class 69 (2). An overload safety device for presses is constituted by an assembly independent of and removable from the press, which assembly comprises a strut constituted by a cylinder 2 and its piston 3 and interposed, under a ball-andsocket joint, in each of the connections between the driving crank and the movable platen 14, a valve 6 via which, on overloading, oil is forced from the cylinder, a receiver 7 for such oil, a pump 8 and valve 10 for returning oil to the cylinder after the emergency, a pressure gauge 11 and the associated pipes. The valve 6 may be adjustable.
