Abstract

1,008,418. Drying apparatus. BRACKLEY SAWMILLS Ltd. May 12, 1964 [July 16, 1963], No. 28198/63. Heading F4G. In an installation for drying stored crops which comprises a main duct 6, Fig. 1, extending across the floor 7 of a building having transverse ducts 8 connected to spaced apertures 15 in the sides of the main duct to provide air outlets for distributing drying air from a fan 11 over the floor area, both the main and transverse ducts are formed by portable duct sections fitted end to end and of triangular crosssection formed from a triangular frame structure joined and covered by wooden side panels. Each main duct section 9, Fig. 4, has two triangular apertures 15 with manually controlled shutters and metal fittings 21 to which metal strips 30 on the transverse ducts sections 17 co-operate and strips 23 of hessian or the like are secured to the bottom edges of the sides of the sections 17 and rest on the installation floor to cover the air outlets and prevent ingress of the crops.
