Abstract

1,005,772. High voltage switches; switchgear structures. BROWN BONENI & CO. Ltd. Nov. 25, 1963 [Nov. 27, 1962], No. 46377/63. Heading H2B. The fixed contact 8 of a series isolator is supported on insulating arms 1a extending from the moulded resin housing 1 containing the interrupter contacts of a gas blast circuit breaker, and is connected with one terminal 4 of the breaker by conductors 2 embedded in the insulating arms and extending around both the isolator and the interrupter. The moving isolator contact 7, which in the closed position extends perpendicular to the axis of the interrupter, is pivoted to an extension 3b of a metal member 3 connected with the fixed interrupter contact (not shown). The second terminal 5 connects with the movable interrupter contact. The breaker may be mounted on a horizontally withdrawable carriage 11 in a metal cubicle (Fig. 3) when the terminals 4, 5 are plug connectors. A gas reservoir 12, a blast valve 13; a cooler 14 and a pneumatic actuator 16 for the isolator are also mounted on the carriage 11.
