Abstract

1,005,355. Fuel injectors. E. SATZGER. June 21, 1962 [June 21, l961], No. 23985/62. Heading F1B. A needle valve 1 is prevented from rotating in the nozzle tip 1 by guide means 8 located in the nozzle tip. In Figs. 1 and 3 the guide means comprises a spring ring 8 secured by friction in a groove 7 and having an internal end 9 co-operating with a flat 10 on the part 11 of the needle. In a modification the ring 8 is secured in a groove on the needle and has a projecting end located in a guide groove in the tip 3. In Fig. 6 a guide pin 19 co-operates with a slot 18 in the needle and in modifications the pin is carried by the needle or is driven through the tip 3 to cooperate with a chordal slot in the needle. In Fig. 11 a plate 29 secured to the tip 3 has a flat 32 co-operating with a slot 26 in the needle; alternatively a non-circular bore in the plate co-operates with a correspondingly shaped projection 33 on the needle.
