Abstract

1,005,077. Stockings. WALSEY Ltd. Jan. 28, 1964 [Jan. 28, 1963], No. 3422/63. Heading D1K [Also in Division A3]. A knitted overhose has heel 3 toe 1 and sole 2 portions of less thickness than the ankle 5, and instep portions. In the ankle and instep portions a heavier type of yarn may be used or a splicing yarn added. The stocking is circularly knit and heel and toe pouches are formed with sutures 6. In a second embodiment a gaiter effect may be produced by links-links patterning and buttons sewn on to the ankle portion. Nylon yarn is used to facilitate pre-boarding and post-boarding and to provide a better grip on the wearers leg. An elasticised top 7 may also be provided.
