Abstract
1,004,477. Bearings. MACHINEFABRIEK REINVELD N.V. May 14, 1962 [May 13, 1961], No. 18426/62. Heading F2A. [Also in Division B1] The hollow shaft 8, Fig. 1, of a perforate conical drum 11 is continued upwards as a bush having disposed on it the inner races of two self-aligning bearings 6, 7, Fig. 2, in a casing 5, the spherical raceways of the outer races of the bearings forming part of the same spherical surface. Shaft 8 surrounds a shank 9 which forms an upward extension of the upwardlyconverging floor of the drum 11, the shank 9 having a nut 10 engaging the upper end of shaft 8. Drum 11, parts 8, 9 and casing 5 are vibrated axially as a unit by a vibration-producing device 3. Drum 11 is connected by a membrane 12 with a driving pulley. The inner races of bearings 6, 7 may be kept apart by a precompressed compression spring instead of by a boss on shaft 8.
