Abstract

1,003,695. Pivoted sliding windows. E. D. HINCHLIFFE & SONS Ltd. March 29, 1962 [March 29, 1961], No. 11427/61. Headings E1J and E2F. A pivoted sliding sash 9 may be slidably connected to the window head by slotted links 21 (Figs. 1, 2) sliding over studs 19 attached to the sash stiles and pivotally attached to the head by brackets 8, and to the frame by metal stays 22. Alternatively, each link may be replaced by a rod 29 (Fig. 5) passing through a cylindrical hole in a guide member attached to the stile, the lower end of the rod being attached to a tension spring 31, whose other end is fixed to an adjustable plate 32. The window head has a metal lining strip 7 along its middle sections, between rebates 2 and 3, from which lining depend the brackets 8. The sash has a hollow rib T-section, with sealing cords 18 anchored along one flange, and along the base of the rib.
