Abstract

1,000,350. Rear-view mirrors. NELMOR ITALIANA S.r.L. Feb. 26, 1962 [April 28, 1961], No. 7377/62. Heading B7J. A rear-view mirror 2 is adjustably mounted on an arm 7 and support 8, the latter having a frusto-pyrimidal extension 8<SP>1</SP> engaging a correspondingly shaped seat 12<SP>1</SP> in a base member 12 for mouting on the side of a vehicle, the extension 8<SP>1</SP> having a cross-pin 10 connected by an eye 15<SP>1</SP> to one end of a flexible wire 15 anchored at its other end to a plate 15<SP>11</SP> abutting a compression spring 16 housed in a case 17 within the base member 12, the wire 15 passing around a roller 11 supported on the base member. When the arm receives an impact it can rock and/or rotate relative to the base against the action of the spring and when the force of impact is removed the arm can return to its original position. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 746,275, 746,366, 746,370 and 854,886.
