In order to protect a circular rear-view mirror 7 Fig. 1, from being accidently misaligned on a vehicle, the mirror, provided with a peripheral elastic or plastic member 8, is mounted in a casing 9 having a spherical part 10, of slightly greater diameter than the mirror, whereby the latter can be manually adjusted against the action of a spring 11, whereafter the member 8 will frictionally engage the part 10. The casing 9 is carried in a facing or housing 13 secured to the vehicle wing.
