Abstract

1,046,423. Rear-view mirrors. Y. J. TALBOT. April 17, 1963 [Nov. 13, 1962], No. 15046/63. Heading B7J. A vehicle rear-view mirror, Figs. 2 and 4, comprises a hollow base 3 covering an additional base 16 secured by self-cutting screws 14 to a vehicle body 2; a housing 1 secured on the base 3 by bolts 17 connected to the base 16, the housing having an oblique opening disposed at two different angles relative to the central longitudinal axis of the housing, which axis is inclined with respect to the underside of the base 3; a flexible ring 13 of U-shaped cross-section on the opening rim which is positioned substantially perpendicular to the base 3; and a part-spherically-shaped holder 5 for the mirror glass 11, the holder being universally mounted in the housing opening by screws 6, 7, a ball-joint 8 and a circular centering disc 9. The mirror is urged by a spring 10 against a spring ring 12.
