Abstract

1346945 Rear view mirrors G AVRIL 19 April 1971 [6 March 1970] 23380/71 Heading B7J [Also in Division E2] A pivot mounting for a rear-view mirror has a first, mirror carrying member 10 or 21 and a second annular member 7 or 23 pivoted on a bolt 4 having its head fixed in a third member 2 or 20 secured to a vehicle, the second member having two diametrically opposed projections 8 urged into engagement with corresponding notches 11 in the first member by a compressed resilient neoprene ring 12 on the bolt 4, the projections 8 and notches 11 being rotatable out of engagement against the force of the neoprene ring 12, the second member also having teeth 6 engageable in a plurality of angular positions with similar teeth 5 on the third member. Excessive compression of the ring 12 is prevented by a stay 16 extending between the nut 13 and the third member 2. The mirror may be mounted on an arm 9 secured to the first member 10.
