Abstract

895,855. Look-out reflectors for vehicles. HYDE, T. E. Nov. 10, 1960 [Nov. 11, 1959], No. 38240/59. Class 103(2). A vehicle mirror unit comprises a casing 1, Figs. 1 and 3, universally adjustable on a pillar 4 securable to the vehicle, and two mirror elements 2a, 2b each universally adjustable within the casing to present different fields of vision when observed from a com mon viewpoint, the casing projecting at 3 in front of the mirrors to constitute a weather shield. As shown in Fig. 3, each mirror element is carried by a plate 5 having a hemi-spherical socket 6 engaging a complementary shaped head 7 of a bolt whose stem 8 passes through a spacer sleeve 9 and the back of the casing, and is secured by a nut 10. The bolt is prevented from rotating by having a flat portion engaged by a screw 11.
