1387663 Rear-view mirrors J ENGELMANN 16 March 1972 [20 March 1971] 12220/72 Heading B7J [Also in Division E2] A rear-view mirror mountable in or on a vehicle comprises a housing 1 for a mirror reflector 2, the housing 1 being connected by a ball-joint 3, 5, to a foot member 4 securable by screws 6 to the vehicle 7, the joint consisting of a ball 3 integral with or fixed to the housing 1 and a socket 5 integral with or fixed to the foot member 4, wherein the ball 3 is divided into segments by parallel slots 8 so that the effective outer diameter of the ball 3 may be adjusted by means of a conical spreading member 11 and a screw 12. The adjusted ball is forced into the socket so that the adjustment means 11, 12 are concentrated when the housing is mounted on the foot member.
