Abstract

880,671. Windscreen wipers. SWF-SPEZIALFABRIK FUER AUTOZUBEHOER G. RAU, G.m.b.H. Aug. 16, 1960 [Aug. 22, 1959], No. 28277/60. Class 138 (1). The inner end of a windscreen wiper arm 16, Fig. 4, is secured to a casing 1 receiving a head 6, to be clamped on the wiper shaft (not shown), and having pivoted hereto by a pin 11, Fig. 3, a plate 10 having shoulders supporting a spring 14 adapted to abut against a wall 15 of the casing 1. The spring 14 urges lugs 12, 13 on the head 6 into grooves 4, 5 in the casing I inclined to the axis of the arm 16 and thereby urges the arm 16 towards the windscreen. The casing I may be of plastics material, but alternatively it may be of metal in which slots are provided in place of the grooves 4, 5.
