Abstract

1489782 Mounting vehicle mirrors RAYDYOTLtd 30 June 1975 [24 July 1974] 32634/74 Heading B7J A vehicle mirror is carried by an arm 20 mounted in a housing 14, the arm 20 having a radially extending peg 30 urged by a spring 34 to seat in a recess 26 in a pressed metal plate 24 in the housing, whereby in the event of the mirror being struck it may be displaced against the action of the spring. The spring 34 is located between a washer 32 and a cap 36 secured in position by a cotter pin 38. The mounting is assembled through the open top of the housing which may be closed by a plastics plug 40. The plate 24 is formed from an elliptical plate shaped to provide the recess 26 and a generally circular outline. The recess 26 seats in recess 22 in the housing.
