Description

The present invention relates to a ventilation device for a motor vehicle.

The document FR 2 831 109 describes a tilting aerator that allows to ventilate directly or indirectly the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. This device has a nozzle that pivots on the dashboard of the vehicle. When the nozzle is in its so-called exit position, the air enters directly into the passenger compartment, creating a stream of air. When the nozzle is in its retracted position, the air, which continues to exit the nozzle, out through orifices disposed at the bottom of the dashboard to achieve indirect ventilation of the vehicle, without creating air flow . The nozzle is connected to a flexible air intake duct disposed in the dashboard of the vehicle. The realization of this device is relatively complex and expensive The object of the present invention is to provide a ventilation device of a motor vehicle that has the same aesthetic as the aforementioned but whose implementation is simplified. This object is achieved by means of a ventilation unit for a motor vehicle of the type comprising a dashboard and an aerator, the dashboard comprising an air duct and the aerator having an interior passage having a first end and a second end, connected to a vent, the aerator being pivotally mounted between a first so-called retracted position in which the air vent is fully housed in the dashboard, the aerator then forming a continuous surface with the dashboard, and a so-called outlet position in which the air vent protrudes from the dashboard and the first end of the interior passageway extends the duct so that the air coming from the air duct exits through the mouth of the dashboard. aeration. Characteristically, according to the invention, the aerator is shaped so that its internal passage does not extend the air duct, that is to say is shifted relative to said air duct in the retracted position and aerator includes a valve which closes the air duct when the aerator is in the retracted position.

Thus, the aesthetics of the device of the invention is the same as that of the existing device but its implementation requires fewer parts, which reduces the costs of manufacture and assembly and also improves its appearance due to the removal of visible parts same when they are not used (control button for example in the device of the prior art). Moreover, by leaving more or less the air vent of the dashboard, it can vary the air flow very easily. In addition, the aerator having a shutter valve of the air duct, it allows, by tilting, to close the latter, at the same time that the air vent enters the dashboard.

According to a particular embodiment, the air duct is rigid and integrated with the internal structure of the dashboard which further simplifies the structure of the device of the invention and avoids the risk of leakage due to the use of a flexible ride. According to a particular embodiment, the valve is disposed substantially at the first end of the inner passage.

The dashboard may also include a stop forming a valve adapted to plug the first end of the inner passage, in the retracted position. The present invention, its characteristics and the various advantages that it affords will appear better on reading the following description of a particular embodiment which refers to the appended drawings and in which: FIG. 1 represents a sectional view cross section of the particular embodiment of the device of the invention, the aerator being in the extended position; - Figure 2 shows a cross-sectional view of the device of Figure 1, the aerator is in the retracted position. Referring to Figure 1, the particular embodiment of the device of the invention, shown here, comprises a dashboard 1 which may be the dashboard of a motor vehicle or an element that can be embedded in the table of edge of a motor vehicle. The dashboard 1 comprises an air duct 11, rigid and formed in the structure of the dashboard 1. This duct 11 opens at an opening 13 which comprises sealing means 5, such as a foam ring, for example. A shoulder 15 is formed in the dashboard 1, close to its outer surface 17. The aerator 3 has an inner passage 31 and is pivotally mounted about an axis 33. The first end 35 of the inner passage 31 is open and comprises at its lower edge a valve 7 which extends substantially perpendicularly to the inner passage 31. The second end 34 has a vent 37, possibly provided with fins, as is the case in the figures. The operation of the device of the invention will now be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. In the extended position (FIG. 1), the air vent 37 protrudes from the external surface 17 of the dashboard 1. The interior passage 31 is rotated so as to extend the air duct 11 and all the air flowing in the latter therefore exits through the air vent 37 (arrow F). In the retracted position (see Figure 2), the inner passage 31 forms with the outer surface 17 of the dashboard 1 a single surface which ensures the aesthetics of the device of the invention. The first end 35, open, of the inner passage 31 bears against the shoulder 15, which ensures its closure. Simultaneously, the valve 7 comes to bear on the sealing means 5 thus ensuring the closure of the opening 13 of the air duct 11.

All the intermediate positions between the retracted position and the extended position allow, potentially, to regulate the outgoing air flow through the air vent 37 by varying the surface of the sections of the air duct 11 and the interior passage 31 by look at each other. The flow control can be done in an intuitive and simple way, the user further swivels the aerator to clear a larger surface of the air vent, which corresponds to a larger section of the air passage from the air duct 11.
