Abstract

In order to increase the resistance to an attempt to break in doors, leaves or the like, we seek to multiply the anchoring points of the closed panel on the jamb.

 The most rudimentary solution is to place several locks along the frame. It is then up to the user not to confuse his keys when he wishes to operate all of these locks, both when opening and when closing.

 A clearly more elaborate solution consists in controlling several bolts or slings by means of the same lock.

 French patent application FR 2.538. 020 published June 22, 1984 describes a device of this kind.

 The profusion of bolts and strikes, however, leads to complex systems, difficult to install, especially if the strikes are of the conventional type and require the development of cells in the frame.

 The device for locking and unlocking a door or a leaf described in French patent application FR 2.631. 650 published on November 24, 1989 can be mounted on any frame, and avoids this drawback.

This device essentially comprises a means forming a keeper, constituted by a plurality of paddles arranged along the frame, while a dish, comprising as many lights as there are paddles, is mounted to slide in a section profile. complex, integral with the door or leaf to allow the locking of the dish on the auberons, or its

 This method of fixing the keeper is however the weak point of this last device: the screws are located a short distance from the edge of the frame and their resistance to tearing is therefore poor.

 French patent application FR 2,677. 337, published December 11, 1992, shows a letterbox door fitted in this way.

 To compensate for the lack of rigidity in the doors of folded sheet metal cabinets, a special form of flat bolt is known from the outset, as shown in US patent US 1,590. 441 published May 28, 1923.

 It therefore appears from the state of the art, as described in the documents cited above, that the type of multipoint door closure considered is known. But the existing devices are not, obviously, capable of offering a great resistance in the face of determined break-in attempts coming from the outside, and even less adapted to attacks from inside the protected room. that makes sense when it comes to a cabinet door.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention aims to achieve a door closure offering great security from elements that are simple to manufacture, and known per se, but whose original combination results in a lock that is difficult to break.

 It relates in particular to a multipoint door closing device intended to close a room, this device being of the type of those having: - a plurality of first locking elements forming a keeper, such as fingers, paddles or the like, integral with the frame ,

 - a first profile forming a bolt, comprising a plurality of second locking elements such as lights, notches or the like, cooperating with the first elements by sliding in a second profile secured to the door panel, - a commanding opening and closing mechanism the sliding of the first profile between a low position and a high position, - a third profile covering the plurality of first and second locking elements when the door is in the closed position.

 Among these devices, the present invention relates to a door closing device where: - the third section houses the entire mechanism, and - the first section or bolt comprises a means for blocking the third section when it slides towards the position low.

Figure 1 shows an embodiment of the closure device according to the invention mounted on a door 1 opening to the right. Such a device is placed on the inner left edge 2 of said door 1, over the entire height, and it covers the inner edge of the frame 3. The keeper 4, fixed by screws on the edge of the frame 3, consists of an L-shaped section (also referred to below as the fourth section) from which tongues 5 have been cut, seven in number.

 The short side 6 of this L-shaped profile 4 completely masks the vertical return 7 of the rebate.

 The 1/4 liberating turn causing the ultimate sliding upward of the bolt 9 can indeed be obtained by actuating the barrel 50 using the key, which has the effect of again driving the pinion 52 in a direct rotation, the ball 65 then emerging from the hole 64 and the finger 58, resuming its support on the inclined edge 61 of the cutout 59, controlling the rise of the bolt until the lights 8 come straight tabs 5.14.

 This same ultimate rise in the bolt can however also be obtained by operating the handle 37 in a retrograde rotation, the pinion 55 which equips said handle then driving the rack 56 and consequently the bolt 9, in a vertical movement directed from bottom to high.

 FIGS. 10 to 12 illustrate the position of the bolt, in particular that of its slots 8 relative to the tongues 5, 14 of the keeper 4 and to the slots 23 of the guide 10, in the three situations detailed previously and shown in FIGS. 7 to 9, respecting the same chronology: complete closing, opening with the key, the lock then being opened, and finally complete opening after the 1/4 turn. When passing from the position corresponding to complete closing (Figures 7 and 10) to that corresponding to opening with the key (Figures 8 and 11), the latch rose twenty-four millimeters and it raised by twelve millimeters when passing from the position corresponding to key opening to that of complete opening after the 1/4 liberating turn (Figures 9 and 12).

 In order to preserve if necessary this final arrangement of the bolt 9 in the extreme high position, in which case, even without a handle placed outside, it is always possible, from the outside as from the inside, to operate the door to the opening as soon as it is not completely closed, that is to say as long as the tabs of the keeper 4 do not penetrate the slots 8 of the bolt 9, the invention advantageously provides for locking means of said bolt in its extreme high position.

 These blocking means, illustrated in FIGS. 14 and 15, consist essentially of a cleat 68, mounted tilting in the upper part of the plate 54, in line with the handle 37, and a slot 69 complementary to said cleat and cut in the long side 22 of the bolt 9, from that of the lights 8 which is the most central.

 In a recess 70 made throughout the thickness of the plate 54, there is a heel 71 which can pivot freely in this recess around an axis 72, the two ends of which are embedded in the plate. A leaf spring 73, one end of which is pinched between the heel 71 and clamping means 74 which can be operated by a bolt 75 and the other end 76 of which, free, comes to bear constantly on the face of the plate facing the opposite of the guide 10, completes this equipment in order to form the cleat 68 mounted to pivot around the axis 72. The cleat 68 is thus in contact with the keeper 4 by its clamping means 74 and it releases the bolt 9 when closed door complete.

 Then it suffices to push the door completely in order to apply it against the frame so that, a tongue 5,14 of the keeper 4 penetrating the light 8, said tongue pushes back the cleat 68, thus releasing the descent of the bolt 9 (figure 14).

 In the same alternative embodiment of the mechanism for controlling the vertical sliding of the bolt 9, but this time in a configuration taken in the second example with two locks, a lock 150 called "master" and a lock 50 called "slave", the barrel by European example of the "master" lock is specially equipped with a pin 78 emerging upwards which cooperates with a targette 79 provided for this purpose with a notch 80 intended to allow the drive movement of the targette, to the left or to the right, during the oscillation of the bit, respectively in the direct or retrograde direction, under the control of the master key. To this end, the targette 79 is also provided with a cylindrical projection or lug 86 obtained for example by stamping the targette, lug which is capable of being housed in a slot 87 cut in the bolt 9, from its edge 57, when said bolt occupies its extreme low position, therefore "slave" lock closed.  In order to easily identify the two positions of opening and, respectively, of closing the "master" lock, the targette is advantageously provided with two holes 88, 89 spaced by seven millimeters which cooperate, sometimes one 88, with the opening, sometimes the other 89, at closing, with a ball 90 which is permanently pressed in the direction of said bolt under the effect of a spring leaf 91 whose end 92 which presses on the ball is free and the other end of which 93 is pinched onto the plate 84 using clamping means 94 which cooperate with a tapped hole formed in the plate 84.

 In this configuration, when the "master" lock is closed, whether from the outside or from the inside, neither the handle nor the "slave" lock can be actuated, no more from the outside than from the interior, and the door cannot therefore be opened. When the "master" lock is open, the "slave" lock can be actuated freely, both from the inside and from

 outside, but not the handle as long as the "slave" lock is closed. Finally, if the "master" lock and the "slave" lock are open, the handle can be operated freely, from the inside as well as from the outside if the handle is through, and the door can also be opened at 1 / 4 turn using the "slave" key, both inside and outside.

 It has been seen in the two above-mentioned configurations that the pinion 52 with forty-two (42) teeth has at most 1/3 + 1/4 turn. For the sake of economy, it will therefore be provided that only twenty-five (25) teeth of this pinion 52 are cut, the twenty-five teeth useful for its rotation under the control of the pinion 51, the rest of the periphery of the pinion 52 being smooth.

 As for the rack 56, permanently engaged with the teeth of the pinion 55 associated with the handle 37 of the door, it will usefully consist of nine (9) teeth only.

 The invention therefore embraces, without departing from the overall inventive concept, all the possible variants of embodiments.

Claims (16)
