Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a door lock equipped with a protection device.
  • the object of the present invention is to combat all attempted break-ins, in particular of the piercing or tearing type, of a lock of the type which, to be mortised or to be applied on a door, comprises at least one associated deadbolt to a locking member of said dead bolt, or groove, to block it.
  • protective counter plates are arranged substantially at the level of said bolt and said groove in an attempt to make it impossible to break in such locks.
  • the present invention aims to overcome the above drawbacks by providing a protection device integrated in the lock.
  • a protection device with a groove lock; such a device is intended to offer greater resistance to break-in attempts intended to neutralize the retention of the bolt by the throat, by lifting the throat; the arrangement described in this document, if it is effective, does not protect the groove itself and only prevents it from being able to be lifted after puncturing the lock case; It is the object of the present invention to provide a protection device integrated into the lock and protecting the throat itself.
  • a door lock which lock comprises in a trunk, on the one hand, a deadbolt movable in translation under the action of an operating member of the lock and admitting at least one position of locking where it protrudes from the edge of the door and an unlocking position where it is substantially obliterated with respect to said edge, and, on the other hand, a locking member, or groove, movable transversely with respect to the direction of translation of the bolt and adapted to cooperate with teeth carried by a tail of latch bolt of said bolt, to block said bolt, said groove being associated with elastic means pushing it towards said tail, and cooperating with the operating member for unlocking the bolt, said lock comprising a protection device inside said trunk.
  • the protection device consists of a cage inside which the groove is arranged at least partially, said cage being adapted to guide said bolt and its associated tail as well as said groove.
  • the cage almost completely overlaps the groove, said elastic means being placed inside the cage and disposed between the latter and the groove.
  • the tail of the bolt is provided with an oblong opening
  • the groove is provided with an oblong opening extending orthogonally to the oblong opening, the oblong opening and the oblong opening being traversed by a guide terminal carried by the cage.
  • the cage carries at least one boss intended to be received in an opening of the trunk of the lock.
  • the cage consists of two plates secured by an upper spacer and a lower spacer.
  • the groove consists of two plates secured by two transverse legs and overlaps the tail of the bolt; the elastic means are arranged between the transverse tabs of the groove and a portion of the upper spacer of the cage.
  • the operating member is a barrel and the cage is limited by an edge in the form of an arc of a circle centered on the axis of the barrel rotor when it is mounted in the lock.
  • the lower spacer of the cage extends over a length such that, when the cage is mounted in the lock and the bolt is completely extended in the locked position, no part of the tail of the bolt is in line with the lower spacer.
  • the cage is in two parts or half-cages placed on either side of the groove and assembled by assembly means.
  • the assembly means comprise studs carried by a half-cage cooperating with wells or notches formed in the other half-cage, and transverse axes.
  • each half-cage has a bearing surface for the return springs of the groove.
  • the guide terminal of the bolt and of the groove is carried by a half-cage and its end is received in a circular housing provided in the other half-cage.
  • each half-cage has a transverse appendage hollowed out with a channel for the passage and protection of a barrel retaining screw.
  • the lock comprises a trunk 2 secured to a headrest 3 intended to be arranged on the edge of the door; the chest 2 is made up of two parts, a palaster 2A and a funnel 2B, extending mainly parallel to the door P on which the lock 1 is mounted.
  • a follower 4 mounted to rotate about an axis perpendicular to the plane P of the door and rotatable by a rod of square cross section controlled by a handle (not shown), as is known in itself, the follower being intended to actuate a latch bolt, a part of which projects out of the lock 1 by crossing the headrest 3 thereof.
  • an operating member is mounted transversely which, in the example described, is a barrel 6 completely passing through the door in its thickness.
  • a bit 7 integral with the rotor of the barrel 6 can rotate in a plane parallel to the plane of the door P, its rotation being obtained using a key engaged in said barrel 6.
  • a guide terminal 81 cooperating, on the one hand, with the tail 89 of a deadbolt 25, secured for example by welding with two wings 97, 98 carried by the latter, and, on the other hand, with a groove 82.
  • the guide terminal 81 is engaged in an oblong opening 91 made in the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25 which is mounted in a plane parallel to the plane of the door P while being guided in translation in this plane by the opening of the headrest that 'it crosses and indirectly through the guide terminal 81 as described below.
  • the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25 comprises in its upper part, with respect to FIGS. 1 to 3, located above the oblong opening 91, three teeth 90 delimiting, with the body of the tail 89, three notches of the deadbolt.
  • the tail 89 is also provided, in its lower part located below the oblong opening 91, with a tooth delimiting, with the body of the tail 89, two notches 92-93 intended to cooperate with the bit 7 barrel 6.
  • the tail 89 At its upper part close to the deadbolt 25, the tail 89 has an ear 94 carrying an axis 95; the axis 95 is intended to control, during the movement of the deadbolt 25, the vertical movement of a high rod and a low rod by control levers, such as the lever 33 in FIG. 1.
  • the groove 82 has a general form of plate which can move transversely to the direction of translation of the bolt, in a plane parallel to the plane of the door P; said plate has an oblong opening 83 substantially perpendicular to the oblong opening 91 of the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25, the guide terminal 81 passing through said groove 82 in said oblong opening 83.
  • the groove 82 serves as a locking member; more specifically, the groove is made up (FIG. 3) of two parallel plates 82A, 82B secured, at their upper part, by two transverse tabs 99A, 99B, perpendicular to the plane of the plates 82A, 82B; the plates have the same shape and, in particular, each carry an oblong lumen 83, the two oblong lumens being in line with one another.
  • the spacing of the plates 82A, 82B is such that the groove 82 can overlap the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25; the legs 99A, 99B are able to cooperate with the upper notches of the deadbolt 25 delimited by the teeth 90, in order to block said deadbolt 25, as can be seen in FIG.
  • the groove 82 cooperates, by the upper face of the legs 99A, 99B, with two return springs 87, 88 which push said groove 82 towards the barrel 6, and therefore the legs 99A, 99B towards the notches delimited by the teeth 90 which take place in the housings 84, 85, 86 defined by the legs 99A, 99B and block the deadbolt 25.
  • the guide terminal 81 is carried by a groove protection cage 70.
  • the cage 70 consists of two parallel trays 74, 75 spaced from one another so that the cage 70 has a passage 76 allowing it to overlap the groove 82 which itself overlaps the tail 89 of the bolt 25.
  • the two plates 74, 75 are secured to their upper parts by a spacer 71-73, and to their lower parts by a spacer 79; the portion 73, of the spacer 71-73, and the spacer 79, are close to the edge of the trunk 2 opposite to that which is close to the headrest 3, and are at a distance such that the tail 89 of the deadbolt can slide between them while being guided by them; the portion 71, of the spacer 71-73, is above the barrel 6 and the groove 82, at a distance from the upper part of the teeth 90 so that the springs 87 and 88 are placed between the groove 82 and said portion 71 on which they bear.
  • the wall 78 which borders the spacer 79 on the side of the bolt 25 is in the form of an arc of a circle centered on the axis of the rotor of the barrel 6 and allows the displacement of the bit of the barrel 6; this wall 78 is extended on the edges of each of the plates 74, 75 in the same way, that is to say along an arc of a circle also centered on the axis of the rotor of the barrel 6 and of the same radius as the circle previous; as can be seen in FIG. 1, this arrangement thus allows the bit of the barrel 6 to cooperate, during its rotation, with the edge 72 of the groove 82 and with the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25.
  • Each of the plates 74, 75 carries, on its face facing the internal walls of the trunk 2, a boss 77; in the example shown, Figure 3, the boss 77 is rectangular; the plates 74 and 75, as well as their boss 77, are crossed by a hole 81A intended to receive the guide terminal 81; the plaster 2A and the lock 2B of the lock each have an opening 80 whose cross section is equal, apart from the mounting clearance, to the cross section of the boss 77.
  • the groove 82 is introduced into the cage 70 at the same time as its two springs 87, 88; while pressing the groove 82 against the action of the springs 87, 88, the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25 is introduced into the groove 82 then into the bottom of the cage 70; the guide terminal 81 is then introduced into the holes 81A of the bosses 77, passing through the oblong opening 91 of the tail 89 of the deadbolt and the oblong slots 83 of the groove 82; the ends of the guide terminal 81 are then crimped onto the bosses 77, the guide terminal 81 advantageously being in the form of a hollow rivet; thus assembled, the groove 82 and its springs 87, 88, the bolt 25 and its tail 89, and the cage 70 constitute a sub-assembly; this promotes the management of parts in the lock manufacturing workshop; said sub-assembly is then mounted in the lock 1, being sandwiched between the plaster 2A and the wall 2B, the openings 80 of
  • the guide terminal 81 being in the form of a hollow rivet, it is possible to pass there a fastening screw, for example of a protection attached to the external face of the door.
  • the cage 70 can be made of aluminum, zamak, plastic or more resistant material such as steel, better resistant to drilling and impact.
  • the tail 89 of the bolt 25 and the spacer 79 of the cage 70 extend transversely along a length such that when the bolt 25 is completely extended, through the headrest 3, the tail 89 is no longer in line with the spacer 79: thus, if it happened that a burglar succeeds in removing or destroying the guide terminal 81, the tail 89 is no longer guided and is found to be off-center with respect to the transverse space comprised between the spacer 79 and the portion 73 of the spacer 71-73; it is then impossible to reverse the bolt 25, its tail 89 abutting against elements of the cage 70, in particular the wall 78 of the spacer 79.
  • the lock 10 comprises a trunk 2 secured to a headrest 3 intended to be disposed on the edge of the door; the trunk 2 consists of two parts, a plaster 2A and a plug 2B, extending mainly parallel to the door P on which the lock 10 is mounted.

Description

The present invention relates to a door lock equipped with a protection device.

The object of the present invention is to combat all attempted break-ins, in particular of the piercing or tearing type, of a lock of the type which, to be mortised or to be applied on a door, comprises at least one associated deadbolt to a locking member of said dead bolt, or groove, to block it.

In general, protective counter plates are arranged substantially at the level of said bolt and said groove in an attempt to make it impossible to break in such locks.

However, such counter-plates not only do not allow sufficient delay in breaking in since the burglar only has to release them to reach the abovementioned lock members, but, moreover, independent of the lock and attached to the door. , strike the cost price of the whole and are more or less aesthetic.

The present invention aims to overcome the above drawbacks by providing a protection device integrated in the lock.

It has already been proposed, according to FR-A-2 610 354, to integrate a protection device with a groove lock; such a device is intended to offer greater resistance to break-in attempts intended to neutralize the retention of the bolt by the throat, by lifting the throat; the arrangement described in this document, if it is effective, does not protect the groove itself and only prevents it from being able to be lifted after puncturing the lock case; It is the object of the present invention to provide a protection device integrated into the lock and protecting the throat itself.

Thus, according to the invention, a door lock, which lock comprises in a trunk, on the one hand, a deadbolt movable in translation under the action of an operating member of the lock and admitting at least one position of locking where it protrudes from the edge of the door and an unlocking position where it is substantially obliterated with respect to said edge, and, on the other hand, a locking member, or groove, movable transversely with respect to the direction of translation of the bolt and adapted to cooperate with teeth carried by a tail of latch bolt of said bolt, to block said bolt, said groove being associated with elastic means pushing it towards said tail, and cooperating with the operating member for unlocking the bolt, said lock comprising a protection device inside said trunk. characterized in that the protection device consists of a cage inside which the groove is arranged at least partially, said cage being adapted to guide said bolt and its associated tail as well as said groove.

Advantageously, the cage almost completely overlaps the groove, said elastic means being placed inside the cage and disposed between the latter and the groove.

Advantageously, the tail of the bolt is provided with an oblong opening, the groove is provided with an oblong opening extending orthogonally to the oblong opening, the oblong opening and the oblong opening being traversed by a guide terminal carried by the cage.

The cage carries at least one boss intended to be received in an opening of the trunk of the lock.

According to a first embodiment, the cage consists of two plates secured by an upper spacer and a lower spacer.

Preferably, the groove consists of two plates secured by two transverse legs and overlaps the tail of the bolt; the elastic means are arranged between the transverse tabs of the groove and a portion of the upper spacer of the cage.

Preferably, the operating member is a barrel and the cage is limited by an edge in the form of an arc of a circle centered on the axis of the barrel rotor when it is mounted in the lock.

Advantageously, the lower spacer of the cage extends over a length such that, when the cage is mounted in the lock and the bolt is completely extended in the locked position, no part of the tail of the bolt is in line with the lower spacer.

According to another embodiment, the cage is in two parts or half-cages placed on either side of the groove and assembled by assembly means.

Advantageously, the assembly means comprise studs carried by a half-cage cooperating with wells or notches formed in the other half-cage, and transverse axes.

Preferably, each half-cage has a bearing surface for the return springs of the groove.

Preferably, the guide terminal of the bolt and of the groove is carried by a half-cage and its end is received in a circular housing provided in the other half-cage.

Advantageously, the operating member being a barrel, each half-cage has a transverse appendage hollowed out with a channel for the passage and protection of a barrel retaining screw.

To better understand the object of the invention, we will now describe, by way of purely illustrative and nonlimiting example, an embodiment shown in the accompanying drawings.

The lock 1, partially shown in Figures 1 and 2, comprises a trunk 2 secured to a headrest 3 intended to be arranged on the edge of the door; the chest 2 is made up of two parts, a palaster 2A and a funnel 2B, extending mainly parallel to the door P on which the lock 1 is mounted. In the upper part of the boot 2 is disposed a follower 4 mounted to rotate about an axis perpendicular to the plane P of the door and rotatable by a rod of square cross section controlled by a handle (not shown), as is known in itself, the follower being intended to actuate a latch bolt, a part of which projects out of the lock 1 by crossing the headrest 3 thereof.

In the lower part of the boot 2, an operating member is mounted transversely which, in the example described, is a barrel 6 completely passing through the door in its thickness. A bit 7 integral with the rotor of the barrel 6 can rotate in a plane parallel to the plane of the door P, its rotation being obtained using a key engaged in said barrel 6.

Au dessus du barillet 6 est fixée perpendiculairement au plan de la porte P, et entre les deux parties du coffre 2, une borne de guidage 81 coopérant, d'une part, avec la queue 89 d'un pêne dormant 25, solidarisée par exemple par soudage à deux ailes 97, 98 portées par celui-ci, et, d'autre part, avec une gorge 82.Above the barrel 6 is fixed perpendicular to the plane of the door P, and between the two parts of the boot 2, a guide terminal 81 cooperating, on the one hand, with the tail 89 of a deadbolt 25, secured for example by welding with two wings 97, 98 carried by the latter, and, on the other hand, with a groove 82.

The guide terminal 81 is engaged in an oblong opening 91 made in the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25 which is mounted in a plane parallel to the plane of the door P while being guided in translation in this plane by the opening of the headrest that 'it crosses and indirectly through the guide terminal 81 as described below.

The tail 89 of the deadbolt 25 comprises in its upper part, with respect to FIGS. 1 to 3, located above the oblong opening 91, three teeth 90 delimiting, with the body of the tail 89, three notches of the deadbolt. In addition, the tail 89 is also provided, in its lower part located below the oblong opening 91, with a tooth delimiting, with the body of the tail 89, two notches 92-93 intended to cooperate with the bit 7 barrel 6.

At its upper part close to the deadbolt 25, the tail 89 has an ear 94 carrying an axis 95; the axis 95 is intended to control, during the movement of the deadbolt 25, the vertical movement of a high rod and a low rod by control levers, such as the lever 33 in FIG. 1.

The groove 82 has a general form of plate which can move transversely to the direction of translation of the bolt, in a plane parallel to the plane of the door P; said plate has an oblong opening 83 substantially perpendicular to the oblong opening 91 of the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25, the guide terminal 81 passing through said groove 82 in said oblong opening 83.

The groove 82 serves as a locking member; more specifically, the groove is made up (FIG. The spacing of the plates 82A, 82B is such that the groove 82 can overlap the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25; the legs 99A, 99B are able to cooperate with the upper notches of the deadbolt 25 delimited by the teeth 90, in order to block said deadbolt 25, as can be seen in FIG. 1; the groove 82 cooperates, by the upper face of the legs 99A, 99B, with two return springs 87, 88 which push said groove 82 towards the barrel 6, and therefore the legs 99A, 99B towards the notches delimited by the teeth 90 which take place in the housings 84, 85, 86 defined by the legs 99A, 99B and block the deadbolt 25.

The guide terminal 81 is carried by a groove protection cage 70.

The cage 70 consists of two parallel trays 74, 75 spaced from one another so that the cage 70 has a passage 76 allowing it to overlap the groove 82 which itself overlaps the tail 89 of the bolt 25.

The two plates 74, 75 are secured to their upper parts by a spacer 71-73, and to their lower parts by a spacer 79; the portion 73, of the spacer 71-73, and the spacer 79, are close to the edge of the trunk 2 opposite to that which is close to the headrest 3, and are at a distance such that the tail 89 of the deadbolt can slide between them while being guided by them; the portion 71, of the spacer 71-73, is above the barrel 6 and the groove 82, at a distance from the upper part of the teeth 90 so that the springs 87 and 88 are placed between the groove 82 and said portion 71 on which they bear.

The wall 78 which borders the spacer 79 on the side of the bolt 25 is in the form of an arc of a circle centered on the axis of the rotor of the barrel 6 and allows the displacement of the bit of the barrel 6; this wall 78 is extended on the edges of each of the plates 74, 75 in the same way, that is to say along an arc of a circle also centered on the axis of the rotor of the barrel 6 and of the same radius as the circle previous; as can be seen in FIG. 1, this arrangement thus allows the bit of the barrel 6 to cooperate, during its rotation, with the edge 72 of the groove 82 and with the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25.

Each of the plates 74, 75 carries, on its face facing the internal walls of the trunk 2, a boss 77; in the example shown, Figure 3, the boss 77 is rectangular; the plates 74 and 75, as well as their boss 77, are crossed by a hole 81A intended to receive the guide terminal 81; the plaster 2A and the lock 2B of the lock each have an opening 80 whose cross section is equal, apart from the mounting clearance, to the cross section of the boss 77.

The mounting of such a lock is carried out as follows.

The groove 82 is introduced into the cage 70 at the same time as its two springs 87, 88; while pressing the groove 82 against the action of the springs 87, 88, the tail 89 of the deadbolt 25 is introduced into the groove 82 then into the bottom of the cage 70; the guide terminal 81 is then introduced into the holes 81A of the bosses 77, passing through the oblong opening 91 of the tail 89 of the deadbolt and the oblong slots 83 of the groove 82; the ends of the guide terminal 81 are then crimped onto the bosses 77, the guide terminal 81 advantageously being in the form of a hollow rivet; thus assembled, the groove 82 and its springs 87, 88, the bolt 25 and its tail 89, and the cage 70 constitute a sub-assembly; this promotes the management of parts in the lock manufacturing workshop; said sub-assembly is then mounted in the lock 1, being sandwiched between the plaster 2A and the wall 2B, the openings 80 of which receive the bosses 77: the said sub-assembly is therefore immobilized in the boot 2 of the lock 1 .

The guide terminal 81 being in the form of a hollow rivet, it is possible to pass there a fastening screw, for example of a protection attached to the external face of the door.

The cage 70 can be made of aluminum, zamak, plastic or more resistant material such as steel, better resistant to drilling and impact.

The tail 89 of the bolt 25 and the spacer 79 of the cage 70 extend transversely along a length such that when the bolt 25 is completely extended, through the headrest 3, the tail 89 is no longer in line with the spacer 79: thus, if it happened that a burglar succeeds in removing or destroying the guide terminal 81, the tail 89 is no longer guided and is found to be off-center with respect to the transverse space comprised between the spacer 79 and the portion 73 of the spacer 71-73; it is then impossible to reverse the bolt 25, its tail 89 abutting against elements of the cage 70, in particular the wall 78 of the spacer 79.

We will now describe, with reference to Figures 4 to 22, a lock variant according to the invention.

The lock 10, partially shown in Figures 4 to 7, comprises a trunk 2 secured to a headrest 3 intended to be disposed on the edge of the door; the trunk 2 consists of two parts, a plaster 2A and a plug 2B, extending mainly parallel to the door P on which the lock 10 is mounted. In the upper part of the boot 2 is disposed a follower 4 mounted to rotate about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the door P and rotatable by a rod of square cross section controlled by a handle (not shown), as is known in itself, the follower being intended to actuate a latch bolt, a part of which projects out of the lock 10 by crossing the headrest 3 thereof.

In the lower part of the trunk 2, a barrel 6 is mounted transversely through the door completely in its thickness. A bit 7 secured to the rotor of the barrel 6 can rotate in a plane parallel to the plane of the door P, its rotation being obtained using a key.

Au dessus du barillet 6 est fixée perpendiculairement au plan de la porte P, et entre les deux parties du coffre 2, une borne de guidage 181 coopérant, d'une part, avec la queue 189 d'un pêne dormant 125, solidarisée par exemple par soudage à deux ailes portées par celui-ci, et, d'autre part, avec une gorge 182.Above the barrel 6 is fixed perpendicular to the plane of the door P, and between the two parts of the trunk 2, a terminal of guide 181 cooperating, on the one hand, with the tail 189 of a deadbolt 125, secured for example by welding with two wings carried by it, and, on the other hand, with a groove 182.

The guide terminal 181 is engaged in an oblong opening 191 made in the tail 189 of the deadbolt 125 which is mounted in a plane parallel to the plane of the door P while being guided in translation in this plane by the opening of the headrest that 'it crosses and indirectly through the guide terminal 181.

The tail 189 of the deadbolt 125 comprises in its upper part, with respect to FIGS. 4 to 6, located above the oblong opening 191, three teeth 190 delimiting, with the body of the tail 189, three notches of the deadbolt. In addition, the tail 189 is also provided, in its lower part located below the oblong opening 191, with a tooth delimiting, with the body of the tail 189, two notches 192-193 intended to cooperate with the bit of the barrel 6.

At its upper part close to the deadbolt 125, the tail 189 has an ear 194 carrying an axis 195; the axis 195 is intended to control, during the movement of the deadbolt 125, the vertical movement of a high rod and a low rod by control levers, such as the lever 133 in FIG. 4.

The groove 182 has a generally planar shape which can move transversely to the direction of translation of the bolt, in a plane parallel to the plane of the door P; said groove has an oblong slot substantially perpendicular to the oblong opening 191 of the tail 189 of the deadbolt 125, the guide terminal 181 passing through said groove 182 in said oblong slot.

The groove 182 serves as a locking member; more specifically, the groove 182, better visible in FIG. 9, consists of two parallel pieces or half-grooves 182A, 182B carrying, at their upper part, each a transverse tab 199A, 199B said groove shaft, perpendicular to the plane of the half-grooves 182A, 182B; the half-grooves have the same general shape and, in particular, each carry an oblong lumen 183A, 183B, the two oblong lumens being in line with each other. The spacing of the half-grooves 182A, 182B is such that the groove 182 can overlap the tail 189 of the deadbolt 125; groove shafts 199A, 199B are suitable for cooperate with the upper notches of the deadbolt 125 delimited by the teeth 190, in order to block said deadbolt 125, as can be seen in FIG. 4; the groove 182 cooperates, via the upper face of the groove shafts 199A, 199B, with two return springs 187, 188 positioned by means of pins 187A, 188B carried by the half-grooves 182A, 182B; the springs 187, 188 push said groove 182 towards the barrel 6, and therefore the groove shafts 199A, 199B towards the notches delimited by the teeth 190 which take place between the groove shafts 199A, 199B and block the deadbolt 125 in translation .

The guide terminal 181 is carried by a throat protection cage 170.

The cage 170, better visible in FIG. 10, consists of two parts or half-cages 174, 175 extending in parallel leaving a passage allowing the cage 170 to overlap the groove 182 which itself overlaps the tail 189 of the bolt 125. The cage 170 can be made of aluminum, zamak, plastic or more resistant material such as steel, better resistant to drilling and impact.

The two half-cages 174, 175 are secured by assembly means comprising studs 171 carried by a half-cage and extending perpendicular to the plane of said half-cage, the studs 171 cooperating with wells, or notches, 173 formed parallel in the other half-cage, the studs 171 and the wells 173 preventing any relative movement of one half-cage with respect to the other parallel to the plane of said half-cages; the assembly means also comprise transverse axes 172 passing through notches 177 formed in certain studs 171 of the half-cages, open towards the external faces of the half-cages and facing one another, so that when the axes 172 cross two notches face to face of each of the half-cages, these are prevented from any movement tending to move one of the half-cages relative to the other in the direction perpendicular to their plane; thus, the assembly means, while being removable, when the two half-cages 174, 175 are completely joined, when they are assembled. As shown, these assembly means are close to the edge of the opposite trunk 2. to the one next to the headrest 3; each half-cage 174, 175 has a bearing surface 178 for the springs 187 and 188 which are placed between the groove 182 and the said bearing surfaces on which they bear.

The assembly means partially surround a half-cage zone in which is formed a recess 201 of generally rectangular shape intended to receive a latch 200 for locking the bolt, each half-cage 174, 175 comprising such a recess 201 so that when the half-cages are assembled, these recesses 201 facing each other constitute a housing for said drawer 200; the drawer 200, better visible in FIG. 8, is in the form of a ring with rectangular section, advantageously made of cut and folded sheet metal, and has two large faces 202, 203 with windows, respectively 204, 205, defining two front strips 211 , 212 and joined by two lateral faces 206, 207; the window 204 of the large face 202 is incomplete so that a tab 208 extending longitudinally is produced laterally at the rear; the tab 208 is intended to receive a spring 210, called the locking spring. The upper side face 206 is extended at the front, on the side of the drawer 200 opposite that where the tab 208 is located, with a tab 209 whose role will appear below; the drawer 200 is made of a sheet such that the strips 211, 212 are easily deformable.

When the cage 170 is assembled, the two half-grooves 182A, 182B and the bolt tail 189 being present, the drawer 200 is arranged transversely with respect to the bolt tail 189 and the dimensions of the ring, of rectangular section, that it forms are such that the drawer 200 receives, in the unlocked position of the lock, the tail 189 of the bolt 125, apart from the mounting clearance.

Furthermore, each of the half-cages 174, 175 carries, on its face facing the internal walls of the trunk 2, a boss 277A, 277B respectively; the plaster 2A and the land 2B have an opening respectively 278A, 278B whose cross section is equal, apart from the mounting clearance, to that of the boss 277A or 277B which it receives.

On its face facing the half-cage 174, the half-cage 175 carries, as can be seen in FIG. 5, a circular housing 218 adapted to receive the end of the guide terminal 181 carried by the half-cage 174 , and an elongated housing 219 intended to receive a pin 220, FIG. 9, provided at the lower end of the branch 196B of the half-groove 182B for guiding the latter.

Each half-cage 174, 175 has a passage 213A, 213B in the form of a notch for the barrel 6 bordered by a circular recess 214A, 214B for housing and the movement of the bit 7; circular openings 215A, 215B allow the passage of threaded barrels 241 integral with the plaster panel 2A for assembly by screws of the trunk 2 passing through holes 242 of the block 2B.

Each half-cage 174, 175 also has an appendage 251A, 251B extending towards the headrest 3 and disposed transversely relative to the axis along which the notch 213A, 213B extends; the facing faces of the appendices 251A and 251B are hollowed out with a channel 252A, 252B for the passage and protection of the retaining screw 253, FIG. 6, of the barrel 6; a notch 254 is provided on the face of the appendage 251A opposite to that which carries the channel 252A for the passage and the guiding of the lever 133 for controlling the lower rod rod.

Each of the half-grooves 182A, 182B has, on its side opposite to that where the groove shafts 199A, 199B are located, edges inclined in a V respectively 321A, 322A and 321B, 322B; from the end of the inclined edge 322A, for the half-groove 182A, and from the inclined edge 321B, for the half-groove 182B, each of the half-grooves 182A, 182B has a branch-shaped extension 196A, 196B, both branches 196A, 196B constituting a sort of clamp surrounding the barrel 6; the internal face, that is to say the face facing the bolt tail 189, of the branch 196B has a recess to constitute a drive stop 197B of the drawer 200 by cooperation of said stop with the lateral face 207 of the drawer 200; the internal parts 216A, 216B of each of the branches 196A, 196B constitute stop means capable of cooperating with the bit 7 in the rest position (that is to say in the position that the bit has when the key is removed ) to block the corresponding half-groove 182A, 182B in translation, said bit being in contact with the internal part 216A if it is a door with opening to the right, or with the internal part 216B if it acts of a door with opening on the left.

At their upper part, each half-groove 182A, 182B carries a pin 184A, 184B placed laterally with respect to the groove shafts 199A, 199B, at the same level as them in height, the pegs 184A, 184B and the groove shafts 199A , 199B extending from the opposite faces of the half-grooves 182A, 182B; when said half-grooves 182A, 182B are placed on either side of the bolt tail 189, each pin 184A, 184B of one is in line with each groove shaft 199A, 199B of the other; the pins 184A, 184B are crossed by transverse housings 185A, 185B in which are placed wedging means 186A, 186B constituted by balls in the example shown; in this case, as will be explained below, it is advantageous for the bottom of the transverse housings 185A, 185B to be inclined, as shown at 233 in FIG. 6.

Un capot 180, avantageusement en métal traité entoure le barillet 6 et protège celui-ci.A cover 180, advantageously made of treated metal, surrounds the barrel 6 and protects it.

That said, the operation of the lock and of the protection device is as follows.

In Figure 4, the lock is in the open position, not locked, the bolt 125 being deleted; the half-groove 182A is immobilized in translation by the bit 7, in the stop position, said bit 7 being in line with the branch 196A of the half-groove 182A in the case of an opening on the right; in the case of an opening on the left, it is the half-groove 182B which is immobilized by the bit 7 thanks to its branch 196B. The groove shafts 199A, 199B urged by the return springs 187, 188 rest in the upper notches of the bolt tail 189 defined between the teeth 190; the bolt 125 is thus blocked in translation. The bolt tail 189 is inside the drawer 200 which is supported, urged by its spring 210, on the teeth 190 by its face 206 extended by the tongue 209.

To control the translational movement of the bolt 125 (to the left according to the representation of the drawings) in order to cause it to exit, an appropriate key (not shown) is introduced into the opening of the barrel 6 and this key is turned so to rotate the bit 7 counterclockwise (according to the representation of the drawings) around the axis of the barrel 6.

When the bit 7 has turned a little more than half a turn, from its stop position in FIG. 4, by its end remote from the axis, it comes into contact with the inclined edges 321A, 321B of the groove 182. The continuation of the rotation movement, in the counterclockwise direction, of the bit 7 causes the displacement upwards of the groove 182 against the elastic means 187, 188. The amplitude of the movement towards the top, controlled by the bit 7, is sufficient to completely disengage the groove shafts 199A, 199B from the notches formed between the teeth 190 of the bolt tail 189; the bolt 125 is thus released in translation. The bit 7, continuing to rotate counterclockwise, cooperates with the left edge of the inner notch 192 and causes the bolt 125 to exit, corresponding to a turn of the key. When the bit 7 escapes from the notch 192, the bolt 125 stops moving and is in a position where the following upper notches of the tail 189 are in line with the groove trees 199A, 199B.

By completing its first counter-clockwise turn, the bit 7 allows the descent of the groove 182 under the action of elastic means 187, 188. The groove shafts 199A, 199B then enter said upper notches. This configuration is deduced from Figure 4 by moving the bolt 125 to the left so that the groove shafts 199A, 199B are in the following upper notches.

During the second turn of the key and bit 7, counterclockwise, the same succession of phases occurs. The configuration at the end of the second round is that of FIG. 11. The projection of the bolt 125 is maximum. During the movement of the bolt 125, the guide terminal 181 has passed from the left end of the opening 191 (FIG. 4) to the right end (FIG. 11). The drawer 200 is no longer held by the bolt tail 189 and its spring 210 recalls it in the low position.

During an attempted break-in of a door equipped with a lock closed with two turns, as illustrated in FIG. 11, a first attack generally consists in trying to raise the groove 182, to release the bolt 125, using a tool inserted not only through the trunk 2, but also through the cage 175 which protects the groove 182; we therefore understand that the presence of cage 175 makes this difficult operation; nevertheless, assuming that the tool, for example a screwdriver, allows to exert an upwardly directed force on the groove 182, the latter being made up of two half-grooves 182A, 182B, only the attacked half-groove can be raised; we will assume that the attack took place on the plaster side and that it is the half-groove 182A which will have to be lifted; in this case, it is necessary, in order to be able to lift this half-groove 182A, to cancel beforehand the action of retaining the branch 196A which cooperates with the bit 7 by its stop means 216A, this further complicates the break-in ; of course, this preliminary operation is not necessary if the attack is made on the dark side.

Bien entendu, un blocage analogue est obtenu en cas d'attaque côté foncet en soulevant la demi-gorge 182B, le pêne restant bloqué grâce à la demi-gorge 182A.The half-groove 182A being raised, we see that the bolt 125 is still immobilized in translation thanks to the half-groove 182B whose shaft 199B cooperates with the last tooth 190 of the tail 189. Of course, a similar blocking is obtained in the event of an attack on the dark side by lifting the half-groove 182B, the bolt remaining blocked thanks to the half-groove 182A.

The invention therefore provides a particularly effective protection device in the event of attack by the groove shafts, while remaining simple.

Supposons que l'effraction décrite ci-dessus soit poursuivie et que l'on tente de soulever non seulement la demi-gorge 182A mais également la demi-gorge 182B.Suppose that the break-in described above is continued and that an attempt is made to lift not only the half-groove 182A but also the half-groove 182B.

The dimensioning of the elements concerned is such that, when the two half-grooves 182A, 182B are displaced vertically with respect to each other, the balls 186A, 186B leave their housings 185A, 185B, by gravity, thanks to the inclined bottom said housings, such as the bottom 233 shown in FIG. 6, the inclination being such that the lowest part of the bottom of the housing carried by a half-groove is that which adjoins the other half-groove; the movement of the balls 186A, 186B is illustrated by the arrows F in FIG. 14; in their new position, the balls 186A, 186B are placed in the following manner: the ball 186A came to rest on the wedging surface 198B of the half-groove 182B, and the ball 186B came to rest on the bolt tail 189 between two teeth 190, as can be seen in FIG. 13; as can also be seen in this figure, it is impossible to raise the half-groove 182B, the ball 186A abutting against the abutment surface 325 (visible in FIG. 5) formed on the half-cage 175, said half-cage 175 having been removed in FIG. 13 to facilitate its reading, the abutment range 325 being in line with the line referenced 400 in FIG. 13.

Quoi qu'il en soit, on aura noté que, dans la position qu'occupe le tiroir 200 qui n'est pas au droit de la queue de pêne 189, il constitue un obstacle au retour du pêne 125 vers sa position de déverrouillage ; pour mettre le tiroir 200 au droit de la queue de pêne 189, et permettre le retour du pêne 125, il est nécessaire de disposer de la clé de la serrure pour faire tourner le panneton 7 dans le sens horaire ; durant cette opération, le panneton 7 soulève la gorge 182 en coopérant avec ses bords inclinés 322A, 322B, laquelle gorge soulève le tiroir 200 par sa butée 197B ; la queue de pêne 189 est alors introduite dans le tiroir 200 par action du panneton 7 sur le bord droit de l'échancrure 192 ; tandis que le panneton 7 poursuit sa rotation et que la gorge 182 redescend, le tiroir 200 est maintenu en position haute par la dernière dent 190 du pêne 125 alors au droit de la languette 209 du tiroir 200 ; après le deuxième tour du panneton 7, les éléments de la serrure se retrouvent dans la position de la figure 4.Anyway, it will have been noted that, in the position occupied by the drawer 200 which is not in line with the bolt tail 189, it constitutes an obstacle to the return of the bolt 125 to its unlocking position; to put the drawer 200 to the right of the bolt tail 189, and allow the return of the bolt 125, it is necessary to have the key to the lock to rotate the bit 7 clockwise; during this operation, the bit 7 raises the groove 182 by cooperating with its inclined edges 322A, 322B, which groove lifts the drawer 200 by its stop 197B; the bolt tail 189 is then introduced into the drawer 200 by action of the bit 7 on the right edge of the notch 192; while the bit 7 continues to rotate and the groove 182 descends, the drawer 200 is held in the high position by the last tooth 190 of the bolt 125 then in line with the tongue 209 of the drawer 200; after the second turn of the bit 7, the elements of the lock are found in the position of FIG. 4.

The panel 2A and the plug 2B carry on their internal face a condemnation plate, respectively 231 and 232; each plate 231, 232 is located near the headrest 3 in line with the deadbolt 125 in the unlocked position; the two plates 231, 232 are identical; for reasons of simplification, only the wafer 232 will be described, with reference to FIG. 5; the plate 232 is made of deformable metal and has a general shape of E; the two lateral wings 236, 237 and the central tongue 235, in the shape of trapezoids, have their free end situated near the headrest 3; the free ends of the lateral wings 236, 237 are fixed to the stake 2B at 234, for example by welding points; the dimensions of the central tongue 235 and the position of the plate 232 on the plug 2B are such that, when the bolt 125 is in the locking position, the plate 232 is no longer in line with the bolt 125 but is in line with the wings bolt by which the bolt 125 and the bolt tail 189 are assembled, the ends of said wings defining abutment spans 238, 239, see FIGS. 7 and 11, perpendicular to the direction of movement of the bolt 125.

The role of the plates 231 and 232 is as follows: during an attempted break-in in the region of the bolt 125 in the vicinity of the headrest 3, for example by drilling or hammering, the break-in plate deforms so that the tongue central 235 extends in the return zone of the bolt 125 towards the unlocked position; in fact, this return is prevented by cooperation of the abutment surfaces 238, 239 with the end edge 240 of the central tongue 235; Figure 11, on which to simplify only the elements concerned by this latching condemnation have been shown, shows the shape of the plate 231 after attempted break-in on the plaster side.

It should be noted that during a similar break-in attempt but in the region opposite to that of the headrest 3, the front strips 211, 212 of the drawer 200 are deformed, which makes it more difficult or impossible to return the bolt 125 in the unlocked position.

A rod locking cam 223 is rotatably mounted around the guide terminal 181, more precisely around a flange 181A which the latter has at its lower part; such a cam 223, better visible in FIGS. 18 and 19, comprises three teeth 224, 225, 226 defining notches intended to cooperate with the bit 7 for the rotary drive of the cam 223 by the latter; on the side substantially diametrically opposite to that on which the teeth 224, 225, 226 are placed, the cam 223 has three notches 227, 228, 229 adapted to receive a notch 399A placed in line with the groove shaft 199A of the half-groove 182A.

Le levier 133 de commande de tringle basse présente latéralement une échancrure 300, mieux visible sur la figure 20 ; l'échancrure 300 est définie notamment par un bord supérieur 301 et un bord inférieur 302 lui-même prolongé par un bord 303 incliné vers le bas selon la figure 20.The lever 133 for controlling the lower rod laterally has a notch 300, better visible in FIG. 20; the notch 300 is defined in particular by an upper edge 301 and a lower edge 302 itself extended by an edge 303 inclined downward according to FIG. 20.

When the lock is not locked, the locking pin 222 is in its lowest position, as shown in FIG. 15 where the locking cam 223 is shown alone mounted on the half-cage 174 around the flange 181A of the guide terminal 181; a recess 179 in the form of an arc of a circle, formed in the half-cage 174, receives the locking pin 222; Figures 16, 17, 21 and 22 are diagrams explaining the lower rod condemnation by the axis 222: in these figures, for reasons of clarification, only the elements affected by this condemnation have been represented, and the groove 182 a been limited to the two groove shafts 199A, 199B shown in section and the half-cage 174 at its guide terminal 181. In FIG. 16, these elements are in the position they occupy when the lock is not locked: the bolt 125 is fully retracted, the groove shafts 199A, 199B are in the notches defined between the teeth 190 of the bolt tail 189, the groove shaft 199A is also in the notch 227 of the cam 223, and the lever 133 of the bottom rod is in its highest position.

When the lock is locked, these elements are in the position shown in FIG. 17, the bit 7 of the barrel 6 having made two turns counterclockwise, from FIG. 16, this rotation of the bit 7 having caused the rotation of the cam 223 clockwise; in their position corresponding to FIG. 17, the bolt 125 is extended as far as possible, the groove shaft 199A is in the notch 229 of the cam 223 and in a notch of the bolt tail 189, and the lever 133 in its lowest position: the locking axis is then practically in contact with the upper edge 301 of the notch 300 and the tooth 226 of the cam 223 practically in contact with the exterior surface of the barrel 6, this means that the barrel 6 prohibits any additional rotation of the cam 223 clockwise.

The transition from FIG. 16 to FIG. 17 is carried out by intermediate phases, one of which is shown in FIG. 21 which shows the position of the elements while the lock is not fully locked, the bit 7 having made only one tower ; in this position, the groove shaft 199A is in the notch 228 of the cam 223, the axis 222 of which has not yet been introduced in the notch 300 of the lever 133: the inclined edge 303 of the notch 300 gives the latter a form of cut-out facilitating, in the subsequent phases, the introduction of the axis 222 into the notch 300.

During an attempted break-in of a door fitted with the lock in the fully locked position, that is to say closed with two turns, position shown in FIG. 17, this break-in consisting in destroying the groove shafts 199A and 199B to release the bolt 125 and retract the bolt 125 by direct action thereon, if the operation has been successful and the groove shafts 199A and 199B removed, for example by drilling, an action is therefore carried out on the bolt 125 which is moved towards the inside of the lock; during this movement of the bolt 125, the upper and lower rods approach each other, controlled in vertical displacement by means of the axis 195 carried by the bolt tail 189; thus the lever 133 rises by a height corresponding to that of the notch 300 until the lower edge 302 of the notch 300 abuts against the locking axis 222 of the cam 223, itself in abutment against the barrel 6 by its tooth 226: it is this position which is shown in FIG. 22; thus, the lever 133, and therefore the bottom rod cannot go higher towards its unlocking position; it should also be noted that the bolt 125 cannot either be fully retracted into the lock, being coupled to the lever 133 via the axis 195.

It is also possible to make it even more difficult to attack sensitive areas of the lock; with reference to FIGS. 7 and 7A, it can be seen that the boss 277B of the half-cage 175 has a depression 260 such that inclined faces 261 are formed, connecting, on the one hand, along a horizontal edge 262 and, from on the other hand, along two vertical edges 263 and 264; the vertical edges 263 and 264 are in line with each of the centers of the groove shafts 199A, 199B, while the inclined faces 261 connecting along the horizontal edge 262 cover the groove shafts 199A, 199B and the teeth 190 of the tail of bolt 189; thanks to this arrangement, during an attack by drilling the sensitive zone of the lock, constituted here by the teeth of the bolt and the groove shafts, the drilling forest is deflected by the inclined faces 261 and the hole is drilled out of said sensitive area. Of course, the lock being able to be mounted on a door with opening on the right or on a door with opening on the left, the boss 277A of the half-cage 174 is shaped in the same way as that which has just been described in connection with the boss 277B of the half-cage 175.
